“I live near a busy intersection. When the light is red, I hear motor vehicles revving their engines — this includes motorcycles and motorbikes, and cars and trucks whose owners have illegally modified their exhaust systems to be louder. I have found the noise to be unbearable almost year-round except for the winter. This summer our streets sounded like a NASCAR speedway. The noise is so bad I have contemplated leaving Providence.”

“During the summer, with open windows, the motorcycles and [modified] exhaust systems were annoying, along with the blasting music … I had also noticed a lot more huge trailer trucks making late deliveries (11:00+ p.m.), and they are noisy as they are constantly idling … I lived in L.A. for ten years, and it was never as noisy as what I experienced in Providence.”
